Escape! VR

December 2021

Escape! is a virtual reality first person survival game. Using their hands as thrusters, the player bursts through the sky in order to evade missiles. Rooted in simple gameplay mechanics focused on incorporating the body, Escape! explores what it means to be an immersive/casual game.
🕹ī¸
I created Escape! in completion of my media studies thesis in college wherein I attempted to showcase that virtual reality produces a more ideal gaming experience for gamers because of the presence it offers users.
💭
Using Unity and my meta quest 2 headset (fka Oculus Quest), I challenged myself to create a VR project for the first time. And I'm more than happy with how it turned out. Swipe through to check it out or read more about on Pomona's site.

Screen Breakers

August 2020

Screen Breakers is a website that is a framework for community building, helping shatter the virtual barrier between class members, coworkers, or friend groups. Users can browse through activities and generate an orientation schedule that will help melt the ice and connect their groups. 🧊
I designed and created Screen Breakers as a part of my summer research project with Fred Leichter, executive director of theHive, in an attempt to redesign the distance learning experience for the Claremont Colleges' 2020-2021 remote year. You can read more about the project from one of my team member's medium post or on Pomona's website here.
🗒ī¸
Note: the site currently lives at screensbreakers.com (with an s after screen) because the original domain expired and was bought.

Pandai

December 2021

Pandai is a fictional edtech company focused on transforming learning spaces in technology by making education fun and personalized. My interface designs aim to be colorful and inviting for younger students to make learning different subjects less daunting. Central to the design as well is to center growth and learning by being non-punitive.
🎨 The first slide showcases a colorful and coordinated landing and practice page, a profile page with delightful features like badges and progress bars to encourage learning, and an animal park--a feature distinctive to Pandai. I conceptualized and designed all these pages with the exception of the Animal park, which was designed by my team member.
🖍ī¸
The ensuing slides showcases how a user might adopt an animal into the animal park, and how they can earn more tokens by answering questions.

Rust Class Projects

Augst 2021 - December 2021

During my senior year fall semester, I worked with my classmates to build a 2D game engine and 3D game engine using Rust. The first few slides feature our 2D games built from our engine, tic-tac-toe and a maze game, followed by a video description of the game elements. The ensuing slide is of the 3D game Marble Toss.

Android Class Projects

Augst 2021 - December 2021

As part of my completion for AIT-Budapest's Mobile Software Development course, during my junior year, I worked on a series of Kotlin applications. Displayed above are some of my notable projects: a shopping list, mineseweeper game, tictacttoe game, and Stich: a forum page.
📲
In completing these projects, I learned how to create single and multi activity apps, use Firebase to store and retrieve data, create a splash page, and many more skills.
